COMMUNITY EDUCATION
November 8, 2007
On November 8th Rostraver West Newton Emerggency Services supported the Belle Vernon Elementary School with their annual community education day. The second grade class visited RWNES where they received a tour of our station, ambulances, and got to get their hands on some of our equipment. In addition to RWNES crews, the Rostraver Central Fire Department and Allegheny General Hospital - LifeFlight medical helicopter shared in this event. |

FIRE TRAINING STANDBY
October 20, 2007
RWNES crew supported the Yukon Volunteer Fire Department in a live burn training. The training focused on fire fighter safety and fire suppression for the new and less experinced firefighters within thier company. |

EMS STANDBY
October 9, 2007
RWNES crew supported the Westmoreland County Community College for their 1st Firing Range Open House at the Public Safety Training Center located in South Huntingdon Township. This was an all day event that was open to law enforcement agencies from around the area. Despite a little rain the event went well. Events included a hog roast, gun/equipment show, demonstrations, and some open range time. RWNES Paramedic Pollack can be seen getting basic firearm instruction and taking his first shot ever.

In our second MVC of the day RWNES crews were confronted with 1 patient who had an almost complete amputation of his left leg following an accident involving a motorcycle and a tractor trailer. This accident occurred on Interstate 70 at State Route 51.
Responding units included medics 503, 505, and 507, Life Flight 6, Rostraver Central and Turkey Town VFD’s, and PSP Belle Vernon. |

RWNES crews responded in place of Perry EMS to State Route 51 and Tony Row Road, Perry Township for a two vehicle collision which sent one patient with a head injury to Allegheny General Hospital and another patient to Uniontown Hospital.
Responding units included Medic 501, 505, and 508, LifeFlight 5, Perry Township VFD, and PSP Belle Vernon.
