C-PAP Training

August 13, 2007
On August 13th Dr P.S. Martin, RWNES Medical Director, provided training on our newest equipment added to our fleet CPAP.  CPAP is a device which provides Continuous Positive Airway Pressure.  This device will be on all of our units and is used to treat patient’s having respiratory difficulty caused by CHF - Congestive Heart Failure.  The CPAP Device keeps the airways expanded by providing a positive pressure in the lungs. This pressure helps “force air” into the lungs on inspiration and on expiration it is similar to trying to blow up an almost full balloon.  In the photos you will see Dr Martin supervising our use of the device on each other as well as or crews trying the device out to get an appreciation of how the device works.
