Our educational outreach department provides pre-hospital education to individuals, groups, and businesses. We offer everything from public education (Including CPR) to advanced rescue classes.

This class provides 16 hours of continueing education through the PA Dept. of Health.
EMS Instructor Training
Training will be Held starting on January 23 and conclude on February 23, 2012. Mondays and Thursdays from 18:00-22:00 (6:00PM - 10:00PM). There will be one Saturday Class on Saturday, February 11 at 09:00 (9:00AM). Training will be Held at R/WNES Station #1.
Emergency Medical Technician Course
NEXT AVAILABLE CLASS: Monday & Thursday Evenings Starting February 27, 2012
This course is approximately 140 hours, including both classroom portion and practical lab portions. Upon successful completion of the course and successfully passing the state written and practical examination, your certification is valid for 3 years. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age.
Students will be trained to perform general patient assessment and provide emergency care such as bleeding control, spinal immobilization, oxygen administration, and the use of the automated external defibrillator (AED). Students will also be trained to perform complex immobilization procedures, airway management, assisting patients with administration of certain medications, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic
T
his course includes both classroom lecture and practical labs, and also in-hospital clinical experience externship. Pre-requisites are a current EMT and CPR certification. Applicants must be 18 years of age. The classroom and practical labs are approximately 440 hours.
In addition to the basic-level skills of CPR, first aid, airway management, oxygen administration, spinal immobilization, traction splinting, bleeding control and splinting, as well as the intermediate skills of IV therapy, endotracheal intubation and initial cardiac drug therapy, the paramedic is also educated in EKG interpretation, advanced airway skills, pharmacology, trauma resuscitation, pediatric life support, and advanced cardiac life support.
Paramedics are also required to complete continuing education classes.

American Heart Association CPR and First Aid Classes are scheduled monthly. Please call for times and dates of the next scheduled class. Other dates can be arranged for your office, organization, or community service at your convenience. We offer both the Healthcare Provider and the Heartsaver.
CPR Classes are held at R/WNES Headquarters located at 100 Pleasant Valley Blvd, Belle Vernon, PA 15012. Please call for more information or to register for the upcoming class.
Health Care CPR
This course is designed to teach the skills of CPR for victims of all ages, use of an automated external defibrillator, and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction. It is intended for participants who provide healthcare to patients in a wide variety of settings.
Heart Saver CPR
This Heartsaver CPR Course teaches lay rescuers how to recognize and treat life-threatening
emergencies including cardiac arrest and choking for adult, and infant victims.
AED
This Heartsaver AED Course teaches the basic techniques of adult/child CPR and how to use an AED. Students also learn about using barrier devices in CPR.
First Aid
This course provides the skills to effectively assess and maintain life from the critical minutes immediately following an emergency until the arrival of emergency medical services personnel.
Oxygen Administration
This course provides the skills to healthcare professionals, trainers, and non-ambulance rescuers in the proper techniques in administering oxygen therapy.
Blood Bourne Pathogens
An OSHA approved class for anyone who needs certification in body substance isolation.
